Payment Terms

• A 50% deposit confirms your booking. Your safari is confirmed once we receive it.
• The balance is due no later than 30 days before your start date.
• If you book within 30 days of departure, full payment is due when you book.
• Your deposit lets us buy permits and secure accommodation, transport and other services. Some of these costs become non-refundable once purchased.

Changing Your Dates

• Please talk to us about rescheduling before you cancel. Moving your dates often keeps more of the value of your booking than cancelling.
• Rescheduling depends on availability, supplier terms, permit rules and any change or rebooking fees.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Please cancel in writing. Your cancellation takes effect on the date we receive it.

Non-refundable costs come off first. These include gorilla, chimpanzee and golden monkey permits, and any other supplier costs that cannot be refunded once purchased. The fee below then applies to the refundable portion of your safari:

• 60 days or more before departure: 20% of the refundable portion.
• 59 to 45 days before departure: 30%.
• 44 to 22 days before departure: 50%.
• 21 to 8 days before departure: 90%.
• 7 days or less before departure, or no-show: 100%.
• Partial or group cancellations: fees apply to each guest who cancels. If the remaining guests’ price per person rises as a result, they pay the difference.
• No refunds for no-shows, late arrivals, early departures, or services you choose not to use once your safari has started.

Gorilla Permits: Date Changes

• Gorilla permits are non-refundable once issued.
• Where the issuing authority allows, a permit may be moved to new dates, subject to approval and availability.
• If an approved date change requires rebooking, there is a fee of USD 300 per permit.
• Please ask for any change as early as possible.

If We Need to Change or Cancel Your Safari

• We very rarely cancel a safari. If circumstances beyond our control make it impossible, impractical or unsafe, we may cancel it or change it materially.
• If we cancel, we refund the amounts not already committed to non-refundable permits, accommodation or other third-party services. Where practical, we may first offer new dates or a credit towards a future safari.

Accommodation and Itinerary Changes

• We may replace a lodge or hotel with one of a similar standard and location.
• Routes, schedules, activities, accommodation and transport may change for operational, safety, weather, road, border or park-authority reasons, or for other reasons beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to offer comparable alternatives.

Prices

• Prices are based on the rates, taxes, government fees, permit fees and exchange rates in effect when we quote.
• If government, park or permit fees, taxes, transport costs or other unavoidable third-party charges rise significantly after you book, we may pass on the increase.

Travel Insurance

• We do not require travel insurance, but we recommend it, including cover for trip interruption, medical emergencies and evacuation.
